Mrs. Abigail Dzama Anderson obtained her master’s degree from University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast. She obtained her Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and Master of Art, Human Resource Management (MA (HRM) degrees from University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana.
She has been in higher education management since 2003 at the University of Cape Coast as a Project Officer at the Consultancy Unit. In 2005, she joined KNUST as Private Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor. She then moved to the Quality Assurance and Planning Unit (QAPU) in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor from 2007 - November, 2020.
During her stay at the QAPU, Mrs. Anderson assisted in maintaining quality assurance in the University and in organizing of capacity training for all staff of the University. She coordinated the publication of Quality Assurance Bulletin and Basic Statistics documents for the University. She was involved in the development of policies and guidelines as well in programme and institutional accreditation. As part of her duties, she provided information/data on behalf of the University to external stakeholders including National Accreditation Board, National Council on Tertiary Education, Association of Commonwealth Universities.
She also served as one of two Safe Space Focal Persons (SSFPs) to Colleges of Education affiliated to KNUST.
From November, 2020 to November, 2024, she serves as the Faculty Registrar of the Faculty of Law, under the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She played a key role in KNUST hosting of the 32nd Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, which brought together 47 law faculties from 14 African countries.
During her stay there, she supported the Faculty of Law with the establishment and organisation of Eminent Legal Scholars and Lawyers Public Lecture Series, KNUST Faculty of Law Forum for Current Legal Issues, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Induction Ceremony, LLB Open Day and On-Site Medical Ethics workshop, among others.
Since December, 2024, Mrs. Anderson has been serving as the Senior Assistance Registrar at the KNUST E-Learning Centre. This is a novel center that promotes the use of cutting-edge e-learning technologies and pedagogical strategies to facilitate teaching and learning, knowledge creation, and service to the university.
Mrs. Anderson serves as a member/secretary to many committees of the University. She is a member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) and a fellow of Africa Hall, KNUST.
Outside official hours, she spends her time reading, blogging and coaching entrepreneurs in digital marketing. She is married with three children.
