Prof. Owusu-Prempeh is a vibrant Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Scientist with expertise in climate change (mitigation and adaptation), climate-smart agriculture, forests and landscape restoration, Geo-information management and sustainable land use practices. He joined the Department of Forest Resources Technology in 2008 and has been a Lecturer at the Land Reclamation and Rehabilitation option. He has over 18 years of experience in research, teaching and capacity building. He has outstanding research skills and expertise in both forest and Savannah ecosystems, particularly the dynamics of land use/land cover types within these major ecological zones in Ghana and their implications on ecosystem services and rural livelihoods. He obtained his PhD in Climate Change and Land Use from the KNUST, under the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL). His ultimate goal is to promote responsible land use practices that balance ecological health and integrity with economic and social development for the well-being of current and future generations in the West African subregion and beyond.
