Lecturer | Public Health Researcher | Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Dr. Philip Apraku Tawiah is a laboratory technologist, data analyst, budding public health researcher and lecturer specializing in occupational and environmental health and safety. He holds a PhD in Public Health from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, focusing on occupational health hazards among healthcare professionals. Building on a solid academic foundation including a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology from the University of Cape Coast, he combines expertise in research, data analysis, and public health education. 

His research spans critical areas such as workplace safety, infectious disease prevention, musculoskeletal disorders, and employee retention, contributing to evidence-based policies and interventions. Philip has published extensively in high-impact journals and is a peer reviewer for renowned international publications. He is proficient in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis using STATA, and the development of electronic data collection tools such as Google Forms and Kobo Collect. 

Currently, Dr. Apraku Tawiah is a lecturer at the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he teaches courses related to occupational and environmental health and safety. His previous roles include serving as a Laboratory Technologist at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, where he played a key role in laboratory management and practical training. 

Beyond academia, he is actively engaged in professional organizations such as the Ghana Research Ethics Consortium, and Solidage Africa Foundation, and contributes to public health outreach initiatives. His work continues to influence the fields of occupational health, epidemiology, and workplace safety, driving impactful research and policy development.
