Francis Akabo is a Systems Analyst and the Head of Digital Solutions in the Software Development Division at the University Information Technology Services (UITS), KNUST. With over a decade of professional experience, he has established himself as a leading figure in web application development and systems integration at the university.
A seasoned Full Stack Developer with expertise in Python (Django), C#, JavaScript, and LAMP technologies, Francis has designed, developed, and deployed numerous mission-critical web solutions that enhance operational efficiency and digital transformation across the university. His notable projects include the Registry Documentation System (FileFinder), Staff Concession Application Portal, Family Practice Model Booking and Appointment System, HuSSREC Ethical Clearance Application Portal, The Vice-Chancellor’s Students’ Excellence Awards Portal, the Students’ Medical Examination System, and the National Service Pre-Posting Registration Portal, among others.
Since joining KNUST in 2012, Francis has been instrumental in advancing software innovation within UITS. He is passionate about leveraging technology to solve institutional and societal challenges, fostering digital inclusion, and mentoring the next generation of developers.
