Dr. Joseph Kwasi Brenyah is a scholar in Global Health Issues, Social Protection, Poverty Dynamics and Vulnerabilities Studies. Dr Brenyah is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Global and International Health, School of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana since 1st August, 2020. He is also an adjunct Instructor at Anaesthesia Training School-Kumasi. These are his stepping-stone positions as he aspires to be a renowned Professor and contributes immensely to global health issues.
Dr Brenyah had his Ph.D at University of Ghana and University of Wyoming, USA. He had his Undergraduate and Postgraduate Certificates in Policy Planning and Health Services Planning and Management respectively at KNUST-Kumasi, Ghana. He also attained his 3year Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ from Wesley College, Kumasi. Prior to this, he had his GCE ‘O’ Level and GCE ‘A’ Level at Presbyterian Secondary School-Bechem and Prempeh College-Kumasi respectively. His research interest is in Global Health Issues, Specifically, Non-Communicable Diseases. He has collaborated extensively with many Research Fellows as Research Assistants in several disciplines. He has some general publications and gradually slanting his academic writings towards his area of specialty.
Dr. Brenyah has worked as a Principal Health Services Administrator and Head of Domestics Services Directorate at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for 10 years where he was awarded the Best Administration Staff in 2013. He served on many committees while at KATH. He is also a Chartered Administrator trained by the Chartered Institute of Administration and Management Consultancy. Dr. Brenyah has also served and presented in many conferences both local and international. He currently has 6 published papers and a number of manuscripts under journal reviews.
