Abigael Omowumi Emikpe is a committed midwifery lecturer with over 30 years of progressive professional experience in nursing, midwifery, and academic leadership across Nigeria and now Ghana. Her areas of interest in research are in maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent reproductive health, nursing/midwifery education, and one health. Her contributions span academic research, teaching, mentoring and clinical practice. A fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives, Abigael is a registered Nurse, registered Midwife with a dual Masters degree in Maternal and Child Health and Adult education/Community development from University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Her clinical and academic journey includes impactful teaching roles at the University College Hospital as a Deputy Director Nursing Training, adjunct at Babcock University, Open University of Nigeria and now as a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. Abigael has the vision of transforming maternal, child and reproductive health through research, quality midwifery education and practice with a view to influence policy through evidence- based interventions. Her goal is also to mentor the next generation of midwives and collaborate regionally and globally to promote Maternal, Child and adolescent reproductive health using the one health approach.
