I have had the opportunity to serve as the Study Coordinator as well as the Principal Investigator in major clinical trials that have taken place in my institution. I am currently a trained Clinical Trial Monitor for the Tropical Disease Research (TDR)-World Health Organization (WHO). I have also served as a Senior Investigator on National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research projects in my institution. I participated as Co-Principal Investigator on the pivotal phase III RTS,S vaccine trial programme and currently the Principal Investigator on the Safety Arm of the Malaria Vaccine Implementation Programme in Ghana. I am the Principal Investigator of World Health Organization (WHO) Hemophilus Influenzae Type B and Streptococcus Pneumoniae Invasive Disease Surveillance since 2004 and Rotavirus Diarrhoea Disease in Children since 2010 in Komfo Another Teaching Hospital, Ghana. I have been a study clinician in the Sickle Cell Center of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for over two decades. I served as a senior investigator to the Organ Damage in Sickle Cell Disease Study (ORDISS) in 2017 and currently serving as a consultant pediatrician to the Center and providing clinical and technical support to the Sickle Cell Pan-African Consortium (SPARCO) study. My rich experience in clinical trials and infectious disease surveillance in Ghana places me in a stronger position to support mentors students interest in research.
