Dr. Mrs. Doris Hagan is a lecturer in Public Health Nursing Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Her research focuses on HIV care, adolescent and reproductive health, maternal and child health, preconception care practices, immunisation and health workforce well-being in Ghana. Her work examines behavioural, social and health systems determinants of health outcomes, with particular emphasis on adolescent pregnancy, vaccination uptake, reproductive health service utilisation and occupational health among nurses.
She has published in reputable peer-review international journals including BMC Pregnancy and childbirth, BMC Nursing, PLOS ONE, Curationis and Asian Research Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Her publications address adverse obstetric and neonatal outcomes of adolescent preganacies in Africa, Deteminants of childhood and maternalvaccination uptake in Kumasi, utilisation of reproductive health services amobg adolescents and occupational injuires, mental workload and coping strategies among nurses in Ghana.
Her research contributes to evidenced informed policy dialogue and service delivery strenghening within Ghana's public health system. As a lecturer, she is actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision of research projects and curriculum development in Public Health Nursing. Her teaching interests includes disease prevention and control, adolescent reproductive health, maternal and child health, epidemiology and esearch methods.
