Profile

Elvis Twum-Barimah (Rev) is a Junior Assistant Registrar in the Registrar’s Offices of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. 

He holds Master of Public Administration (KNUST), Bachelor of Management Studies (UCC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretaryship and Management Studies (Kumasi Technical University - formerly Kumasi Polytechnic). He had his Secondary School education at Kumasi Academy.

He has eighteen (18) years of experience in University administration. He began his administrative career at the then Department of General and African Studies, KNUST, in 2002, when he was posted as a National Service person. Immediately after national service, he was appointed Administrative Assistant at Appiah-Menka Complex Limited, Kumasi, in August, 2003. He joined the KNUST on 12th October, 2004, as Administrative Assistant, and with dint of hard work and commitment to duty, he rose through the ranks to Chief Administrative Assistant. He was appointed as a Junior Assistant Registrar in January, 2022. He has since his assumption of duty, served in various Departments/Offices of the University.  These includes Office of the Deputy Registrar, Human Resources Development Division, University Hospital, Office of the Provost, College of Health Sciences and currently at the Office of the Registrar.   He has been one of the Secretaries to the Registrar since April, 2017.  His responsibilities in the Registrar’s Office include general operations; planning and preparation of events; drafting letters and statements; obtaining background information for the Registrar on emerging issues as may be directed; and establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with staff, students, visitors and the general public who engage the services of the Registrar’s Office. He also has served some committees as Secretary including Registrar’s Offices Quality Assurance Sub-Committee, Medical Board, and currently, Registrar’s Offices Training Workshops and Seminars Committee.  He has similarly served as Secretary to the Search Committee for Appointment of Registrar for Koforidua Technical University, Koforidua (2019).

He is self-motivated, diligent, hardworking, result-oriented and has good inter-personal skills.

He is a very resourceful professional in academic and community arenas with a track record of directing and/or playing a contributory role in the educational landscape of the University.

He is a devout Christian and an ordained minister of the Ghana Baptist Convention. He is happily married with four (4) children.
