Professor George Bedu-Addo, FWACP, FGCPS, FRCP

Professor George Bedu-Addo is a Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi Ghana. He is a consultant Physician and a Consultant Haematologist at the Department of Medicine.

George Bedu-Addo completed the MBChB program the then School of Medical Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1984. He then did his residency training in Ghana and in the United Kingdom and returned to teach in his alma mater in the year 2001. He rose through the ranks to become a full professor in 2013.

Professor Bedu-Addo had been Head of Department of Medicine for both the School of Medical Science (SMS) and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for four different time periods and was also Vice Dean and Acting Dean.

Prof Bedu-Addo has a passion to teach and has taught at the medical school level through to residency and postgraduate as well as PhD and he continues to actively teach students in internal medicine and haematology.

George Bedu-Addo has done extensive research work in the area of “Causes of Massive Splenomegaly and Chronic Lymphoproliferative Disorders” and has several publications in peer-review journals to his credit. He has received several awards in academia on the local and international levels.

He is married with three children
