- British Medical Journal Group Awards Finalist (2010). Given to the Research Group “Sexual Health and HIV Evidence into Practice, a collaboration between UK, Africa and Asian research Groups that have used research to influence government Policy on sexual Health and HIV. I was Principal Investigator of the Ghana Study that looked at “Syphilis testing in Pregnancy – Policy vrs Practice”.
- Awarded Best Lecturer in Clinical Microbiology by SMS Class of 2015
- Awarded Best overall Tutor in SMS by SMS Class of 2012
- Fellow of the Ghana Medical Association (2006).
- Commonwealth Scholarships Commission Scholar (2001); To pursue PhD studies at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
- Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Award (1993) to pursue MSc Clinical Microbiology studies at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Hygiene.
- International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) travel Fellowship in HIV Medicine (1992) – 4 weeks attachment course at the Memorial-Sloane Kettering Cancer Centre, New York.
- European Union Fellowship (1991) to undertake Postgraduate Diploma in Genitourinary
- Medicine at the British Postgraduate Medical Federation, London.
- British Council Technical Cooperation Award (1983) to undertake intercalated BMed Sci programme in Clinical Microbiology at the University of Sheffield, UK.
