He has special interest in the Management of Treatment Resistant Psychiatric Disorders, Addiction Psychiatry, Transcultural Psychiatry and Community Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry. As part of these, He is also interested in student mental health and wellbeing.

His research is in the area of the aetiology of anxiety-depressive disorders and schizophrenia with emphasis on cross-cultural factors.
