Mr. Silas Adjei is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Herbal Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST. He received his Bachelor of Herbal Medicine degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He obtained his MPhil degree in Pharmacognosy at the same university in 2019. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Pharmacognosy at KNUST. He is an alumnus of Prempeh College. After being a teaching assistant and a graduate assistant in the Departments of Herbal Medicine and Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical sciences, KNUST, he joined the Department as an Assistant lecturer in 2020.
His area of specialisation and research interest are largely on natural product analysis with emphasis on isolation of medicinal plant constituents, clinical studies of herbal medicinal products, standardisation and quality control of herbal products and has some scientific publications in peer reviewed journals to his credit. He is a member of the Society for Medicinal Plants and Natural Products Research.
