Profile

A higly expereinced public health consultant and field epidemiologist, who is currently the Ghana PI for the world acclaimed and ground-breaking multi-country Performance Monitoring and Accoutability 2020 (PMA2020) project, that seeks to monitor the world's progress towards the target for FP2020: to enable an additional 120m women and girls worldwide gain access to contraceptives by 2020. For over three decades, I have amassed an impressive record of teaching, research and service to the community; I mentor and teach graduate and undergraduate students in medicine, public health and related fields. I have undertaken translational research that has culminated in national policies on maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health. I have travelled the length and breadth of Ghana, implementing community-directed interventions designed to improve health outcomes even in the most resource-challenged, depraved and hardest-to-reach communities. My collaborations with institutions, academics and health researchers of international repute have led to a network of partnerships with benefit to Ghana. I continue to strive to be counted among the most reputable public health practitioners worldwide who develop champions for change
