Reimmel K Adosraku completed his BPharm programme at KNUST with a 2nd Class Upper degree in 1980. After a 1-year national service in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, KNUST, he enrolled in the MPhil programme in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1981, which programme he successfully completed in 1984 and was employed as lecturer in the same department in 1984. In October 1990, he was admitted into the University of London School of Pharmacy, the premier School of Pharmacy in the UK, for a PhD programme in Bioanalytical Chemistry. He successfully completed the programme and returned to post in June 1994. Reimmel became instrumental in the promotion and application of high performance liquid chromatography (hplc) in the university. This greatly enhanced research in the department and turned out many Pharmaceutical Analysts for the pharmaceutical industries in Ghana who could apply this versatile technique in the analysis of medicines and other chemicals. He also introduced the practice of 'bench fees' in the department which provided essential funds for provision of research inputs so that graduate students were able to complete their programmes on schedule. This practice was later adopted by the university.
