  Virtual Conferences and Panel Discussions

  • April 9-10, 2021: Panelist, The State of Black Design, a two–hour virtual discussion hosted by Texas State University’s Communication Design program. This event featured prominent Black Design Practitioners, Activists, and Academics, each exploring the intersection of identity and practice. The open conversation was segmented into four focused panels, Industry, Pedagogy, Black Design Organizations, and Design Activism. 
  • Feburary 18-19, 2021: Panelist, World Class Designer (WCD) Conference, a 24 hour Inter-Continental event, connecting designers around the world, to talk and learn about impactful design stories and practices which inspire and facilitate the growth of designers.
  • October 31, 2020: Panelist, ATypl Panel discussion, a presentation of works by Afrikan designers. Topic: “Working with Indigenous Afrikan Design Systems and Afrikan Symbology”. Convened by Prof. Saki Mafundikwa
  • October 16, 2020: Panelist, Graphic Design Zimbabwe (GDZ)’s Design Week online panel discussion, where I will be presenting on the topic: “Afrikan Design Systems” AND in duo presentation on Afrikan writing systems with my Sebastian Garikayi
  • September 24, 2020: Panelist, Nairobi International Design Conference (NIDEC) 2020, convened by Design Kenya Society, under the theme: Design Zeitgeist Afrika (DZA) which reflects the aspirations, the heart, and the soul of Afrikan design for the decade and beyond.
