Abstract

The hydrated anhydrous complexes alongside the È¢- picoline adducts of bis (furoylacetonato) metal (11) of the form M (fbd)2 .nH2O and M (fbd)2 (È¢- pic)n. where n = 0, 1 or 2. M = Mn (11), Co (11) Ni(11) Cu (11) and Zn (11) : Hfbd= furoylacetonw, have been prepared and characterized using microanalytical data, magnetic moment, infrared and reflectance electronic spectra. All of the complexes have octahedral geometry with the exception of Zn (fbd)2 . H2O and Cu (fbd)2 (È¢- pic) which are square pyramidal. The anhydrous Cu (fbd)2 is square planar.
