Mrs. Elizabeth Maame Esi Amissah is the Junior Assistant Registrar at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Mrs. Amissah started work in KNUST as an Administrative Assistant and the secretary to the Founding Dean of Faculty of Law, KNUST, in December 2003. She has worked with three (3) renowned Vice-Chancellors: Prof. Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, Prof. William Otoo Ellis, and Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso from 2010 to 2016. Within this period, she exhibited a very high level of proficiency. She rose through the ranks of KNUST to her present status through hard work, dedication, trustworthiness, and a high level of proficiency. Mrs. Amissah was recently awarded as a Dedicated Organising Team Member of the Academy of International Business Africa 2019 Conference because of her dexterity in skills.
Mrs. Amissah was first appointed with the educational qualification of Diploma in Business Studies (Secretaryship) from Archbishop Porter Girls Polytechnic, Elmina. While on the job, she pursued further studies to obtain a Private Secretary from the National Coordinating Committee for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACVET) from 1999 to 2001 as well as a Diploma in Admin/Personal. Determination and quest for higher laurels in academia, Mrs. Amissah took advantage of the academic environment that she found herself in and pursued a Bachelor of Management Studies (UCC,2010). She now holds a Commonwealth Executive Master of Public Administration (KNUST 2015).
Before KNUST appointment, KNUST, Mrs. Amissah worked as Secretary to the Executive Director, Association of Rural Banks (National Office, Accra) as well as Secretary to the Chief Monitoring Officer, Association of Rural Banks, International Fund for Agricultural Development/Rural Enterprises Project (IFAD/REP) Monitoring Unit in Kumasi. She was also a Secretary to the Director, Pastoral Training and Social Centre, Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Brong Ahafo (now Bono Region).
Mrs. Amissah’s contribution to religious activities is unquestionable. Her involvement in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal activities (both national and local) is a testament to this fact.
These roles and responsibilities have given her creativity and practical reasoning skills to make complex problems simple with or without supervision.
Mrs. Amissah is a determined person, works well in either an individual or team situation, and can manage stress and pressure that goes along with her duties.
