Profile

Mr. Richard Gbogbi is a Senior Administrative Assistant at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), currently serving as secretary to the Pro Vice-Chancellor at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

He began his service to KNUST in 2019 as a National Service Personnel, where he supported academic and administrative operations within the University. Following his national service, he was appointed on contract as a Senior IT Assistant at the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL). In this role, he provided extensive support for online teaching and learning activities, including virtual lecture setup, online facilitation support, and the recording and editing of academic sessions. He also rendered administrative support at the Examinations Office, assisting with examination coordination, management of examination records, and examination logistics.

Richard was also instrumental in the branding of the KNUST eLearning Centre after it was established as a centre on its own. He served as the Lead Designer for the Centre’s branding, playing a key role in the concept development, logo design, tagline creation, and selection of the official colour scheme, which together form the core visual identity of the Centre.

In December 2024, he was offered a full-time appointment with the University and was officially posted on 10th February 2025 to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, where he currently serves in the capacity of Senior Administrative Assistant. His duties include managing office schedules, handling official correspondence, drafting letters and speeches, taking minutes at meetings, coordinating meetings, and ensuring effective documentation and record management in support of the Pro Vice-Chancellor.

Richard holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strategic Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design (First Class Honours) from KNUST. His blend of academic training, administrative experience, digital systems support, and creative expertise enables him to contribute meaningfully to the University’s academic, administrative, and digital transformation agenda.
