Mrs. Osei Kankam is a young energetic woman with a very rich experience in Administrative and Managerial Skills. She is a reliable team-player, dedicated and result-oriented person who performs her duties with due diligence for excellence administrative tasks. She holds BA Art (Int. Rural Art) and MBA (Human Resource Mgt.) from KNUST.
She did her National Service at KNUST Hospital in 2006 as a Record Officer. She was in-charge of data entry for KNUST Staff and Students as well as keeping records for patients visiting the Hospital. Also, preparing National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) forms for patients (ie. Staff, students and private) and registering new patients for consultation.
After completion of her National Service in 2007, she volunteered to serve with the Hospital to enhance her administrative and interpersonal skills at the Hospital Administration.
She was in-charge of medical examination for KNUST Staff and Students as well as secondary and tertiary students and employers outside the University. During that period, she also acted as the Director’s secretary and received visitors who called to see the Director as well as performing any other secretarial and administrative functions assigned to her by the Director and the Administrator. Due to her selfless character, she was able to work with most of the Doctors, Nurses and other staff at the Hospital when the need arose. This afforded her the chance to work with the various departments of the Hospital on various schedules.
She joined the University in August 2009 and later was posted to Geological Engineering Department as Snr Adm. Asst. when the Department was manned together with Civil Engineering Department solely by Mr. Amo-Boadu (retired).
Because of her good interpersonal relation with staff, students and stakeholders, he taught her much and she was able to acquire more knowledge in administrative and related skills which she is always grateful.
Currently, due to her advanced knowledge in administrative tasks and good interpersonal relationship towards her work, she is the Principal Admn. Asst. in-charge of the Student Affairs Office for the College of Engineering from September 2018 to date.
She is now the Chief Administrative Assistant at the Pharmacognosy Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences after being transferred from College of Engineering on 4th May, 2021.
