Mrs. Benedicta Kwakye is a Senior Assistant Registrar/Faculty Registrar at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences with oversight responsibility at the School of Public Health.  She had her secondary education at Fijai Secondary School, Sekondi-Takoradi from 1983 to 1988.  She proceeded to the Kumasi Polytechnic to read a Diploma in Business Studies (D.B.S Secretarial option) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (I.C.S.A II) programme from 1990 to 1994 respectively.  Mrs. Kwakye holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Sociology from the same University.  She started a career with the then Ghana Telecommunications Company (now Vodafone Ghana) as a Retail Shop Supervisor in 1997 and later joined the then Trust Bank (now Ecobank Ghana) as a Customer Service Officer in 2010.

Mrs. Kwakye was appointed into the service of the University on April 14, 2014. Prior to her transfer to the current office, she was the Assistant Registrar in charge of admissions and was responsible for servicing the Central Undergraduate Admissions Committee of the University. She also assisted the Deputy Registrar in servicing the Academic Board and the Executive Committee.

She has strong competence in University Administration, having accumulated in-depth professional experience at General Administration, a division under the Registrar’s Offices. As an Assistant Registrar, she served as Secretary for the following bodies: Estate Management Committee, Board of Survey, Guesthouse Management Committee, Security Services Committee and Committee of Understanding between KNUST and the Chiefs of the Surrounding Communities. She also assisted the Deputy Registrar, General Administration in the servicing of the following Committees; Welfare Services Board, the Board responsible for all municipal services of the University, Procurement Committee, Tender Evaluation Panel (Works & Goods), Development, Standing and Finance, Budgetary and Tender Committees as well as exercising responsibility for general office management and administration.

Mrs. Benedicta Kwakye is a member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) and a fellow of the Independence Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
