Profile

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Wood Science and Technology. I have been with the Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology since August, 2020. I have had the experience in Teaching and Research locally in several Tertiary Institutions such as Kumasi Technical University and Kumasi Polytechnic. I have attended several Workshops and presented Papers in Ghana and across Asia in my area of specialization and other related areas. These include Malaysia, Indonesia and China. I have also had a mobility programme to the National University of Singapore.

My research interests focus on Adhesives and Bamboo Composites, Anthropometry measurements, Wood Machining, Finger-jointing Technology, Industrial Management; Principles of Supervision, Establishing Small Scale Industries, Career Development, and Mechanical Properties of Wood and Biomass Residues Utilization; Wood and Bamboo Anatomy, Chemistry, Durability and Preservation/Treatability; Wood Composites; Biomass and other Sustainable Energy Technologies including Pyrolysis and Traditional Charcoal and Briquette Production.

I am now working on Furniture design and Production from Laminated Bamboo Lumber Combustion and Mechanical Properties of Briquette produced from Rice (Oryza sativa) Husk and Coconut (Cocos nucifera) Coir, which takes into perspective, how briquettes from Coconut coir and rice husks produce cleaner and smokeless fuels than most fossil fuels, Determination of Physical and Mechanical Properties of Ojuma (Cecropia peltata) and Orange (Citrus x sinensis) wood as a potential material for furniture production.
