Mrs. Hannah Adom Eyison is a professional Planner by training and Research Management Professional with over 15 years of experience in project planning and implementation management. She holds a Master of Science in Regional Development Planning and Management from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany and the University Austral of Chile and a Bachelor of Science in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Mrs. Eyison has worked with several international organizations, which has enriched her experience in managing complex donor-funded research projects from idea conceptualization to implementation and completion. She is competent in monitoring and tracking project results, financial management, writing technical reports, and disseminating project outcomes. Prior to her appointment at KNUST, she worked as the Social Sector Associate for the Millennium Cities Initiative (MCI) of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, USA. She was later appointed the Project Administrator for the DANIDA-funded Building Stronger Universities Project (BSUII & III) at KNUST and a part-time Research Administrator at the Office of Grants and Research at KNUST. During this period, Mrs. Eyison played an instrumental role in organizing several capacity-building workshops, seminars, and conferences for researchers, industry players, accountants and research administrators, deploying her exceptional organizing and interpersonal skills. She also deployed her critical thinking and analytical skills in drafting several research-related policies, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures to enhance the operations of the Office of Grants and Research. She played a key role in developing a proposal that secured a grant for establishing an Intellectual Property Unit for KNUST. She also worked as the Research and Training Coordinator for the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain-Africa (CARISCA), KNUST, where she developed a Training and Learning Plan for the Center.
In October 2020, Mrs. Eyison was appointed Assistant Grants and Research Manager at the Office of Grants and Research, KNUST. Since her appointment, she has assisted in sourcing relevant funding opportunities for staff and contributed significantly to developing and submitting proposals to funding agencies, including the National Institute of Health, Wellcome Trust, USAID, and DANIDA. She is currently responsible for staff research capacity development through the KNUST Research Fund (KReF) and training workshops.
Mrs. Eyison is a member of the Ghana Institute of Planners (MGhip) and the West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA). Her research interests are in research administration and management, urban planning, and the political economy of land management. She is passionate about mentoring and nurturing young people, especially those from less-endowed backgrounds. She is a Christian and married with three lovely children.
