Professional/Teaching Experience

    1. Assessing and Enhancing the resilience of the Cocoa and Tef Value chains in Ghana and Ethiopia

    (2016 to Date). On-going in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH-Zurich). Adopting the value chain approach, we are assessing the resilience of value chain actors to two key shocks: Drought and excessive rainfall

    1. IITA/CRI Collaborative Research Project: Sustainable plant management and rural financial services for smallholder cocoa farmers’ livelihoods enhancement: Connecting farmers with societal actors in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Team Leader for Work packages 4 & 5. - (2015-2016) 
    • WP4: Assessed approaches to formal and informal financing products, services in cocoa land-use systems and analyzed, constraints, opportunities and farmer mindsets 
    • WP5: Models and strategies for successful agricultural financial services provision to smallholder farmers in a West African cocoa farming landscape 
    1. SEND Ghana -  Assessment of Off-Season Economic Activities in 8 Districts in the Eastern Corridor-I (2015)
    2. SEND Ghana - Baseline Survey of Key activities of farmer cooperatives and credit unions (2014)
    3. UNESCO - Sustainable management of the Lake Bosumtwi Project – (2012-2014)
    4. Millenium Development Authority sponsored Commercial Development of Farmer-Based Organizations (2008-2011)
    5. Assessing nutrient cycling and fertility management in cocoa farming systems (2007-2011)
    6. Forest Resources Creation in the Sefwi Wiawso District of Ghana (2000-2003)
