Description:

It is a flowering plant with weeping and grows up to 25 feet tall with a glossy green, long, narrow leaves with wavy edge. The plant develops star-shaped light green flowers in the spring which are followed by clusters of inch-round black fruits (Mitra, 1993).

Ornamental Value:

For landscapes, as visual dividers, noise pollution screen or wind blockers.

Medicinal Value:

Polyalthia longifolia is a versatile plant which is used to treat pyrexia (fever), rheumatism, menorrhagia, scorpion sting, diabetes, skin diseases, hypertension, helminthiasis and bleeding disorders (Dixit et al., 2014).
