STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM and not (Problem Statement)
It is important to note that research is a problem solving activity, which means that you cannot begin a research activity when a situation (a problem) has not given rise to it.
The statement of the problem should reveal a specific area of concern or a difficult situation that needs to be improved upon. It could also be a troubling issue that exist in scholarly literature or within existing practice that requires investigation to bring meaning and understanding to academicians. This statement does not state how to do something but only identifies a problem.................
