WEIGHING of FISHES

At the end of the production cycle, sampling is done to assess the final weight of the fish cultured as well as the total harvest of fish from the ponds to obtain the total weight of fish produced from each pond. In this process fish harvested by the net are counted and put in a bucket containing a weighed volume of pond water, to calculate the bulk weight of the fish. Weighing and sampling during harvesting is done to estimate the average sizes of fish in ponds prior to fish sales.
